We are hosting various interesting and fun workshops at the festival. Here is a selection.

Sing Along in the church (with Alex Mirea)

Beat the heat and lift your spirits! Step out of the summer sun and into the cool, beautiful acoustic setting of the church for a fun, community sing-along with Alex Mirea.

We’ll be singing timeless classics everyone knows and loves—from Beatles favorites like “Let It Be” to energetic hits like “Dragostea din tei.”

• Everyone is Welcome: Perfect for adults, kids, and families alike.

• No Memorization Needed: A downloadable PDF with all the lyrics will be provided before the event.

Improv Theater Workshop (with Raul)

Kids’ Workshop

Your child can have fun, play, and learn all at the same time at Holzstock alongside Asociația SAT!

In this personal development workshop through improvisation, young participants will move alongside our trainers, learn to communicate better, and unleash their imagination.

• Recommended Minimum Age: 6 years old

• Preparation Required: None! The workshop is built interactively around the kids’ own ideas and creativity.

Adults’ Workshop

If you’ve missed playing, moving, and creating out of thin air, this personal development through improv workshop is for you!

• How it works: We’ll break the ice, warm up with light games to get into character, and wrap up with fun improv challenges.

• What to bring: Just your willingness to participate and meet new people!

• What you’ll learn: How to express yourself more authentically, build focus, communicate effectively, and embrace spontaneity.

Spoken Word Workshop (with Raluca)

Spoken word is more than just poetry—it’s a way to speak your truth using verse, rhythm, tone, and expression. Join us to write and perform together at the workshop on August 22nd. We will explore examples of spoken word poetry, write using creative prompts, and recite our pieces.

• PS: You don’t need to be a poet to join!

Face Painting & Kids’ Games (with Bianca)

Fun, color, and good vibes for the little ones alongside Asociația SAT – Seed.Act.Transform! We invite children to join the fun at Holzstock Festival:

• 🎨 Face Painting: Favorite characters, butterflies, superheroes, animals, and many other colorful designs brought to life.

• 🎲 Fun Games & Interactive Activities: Packed with energy, laughter, and unforgettable moments with new friends.

We aim to offer children a welcoming space to play, make friends, and enjoy childhood through activities that spark imagination and joy. Come join us!

Flower Brooch Craft & Painting Workshop (with Ana Hideg)

Flowers, color, and great vibes! 🌻🌸✨

Paint your own floral brooches, let your inspiration flow, and take home a special handmade keepsake filled with festival magic. 🎨🌿

First Aid (with Engelbert)

From too much sun to unexpected camp stove burns and minor injuries, knowing what to do in the first few minutes makes all the difference.

In this workshop, we’ll walk through real-world scenarios—like dealing with heat exhaustion, dressing cuts, and treating burns—giving you the skills and confidence to lend a helping hand whenever emergency strikes.

(1x session | Limited to 17 people)

Painting Workshop (with Alina Vasiu)

• Rural & Nature Painting: Inspired by countryside landscapes and nature, this workshop fits the Holzstock atmosphere perfectly. Participants can paint landscapes, wildflowers, or animals—no prior art experience needed!

• Reverse Glass Painting: Try something unique and memorable! Learn traditional glass painting and take home a beautiful decorative piece from the festival.

Succulent in a Jar (with Dorina Buian)

Fancy creating a special little home for a delicate succulent? Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll pot and personalize your very own succulent to take home.

When: Saturday & Sunday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Group size: Up to 8 participants at a time

Age: 10+ (younger children welcome alongside a parent)

Duration: approx. 30 minutes – 1 hour per participant

Cost: Free — donations toward materials are welcome

Crochet for Beginners & The World of Amigurumi (with Alexandra Maria)

At this workshop, I’ll help beginners discover the magic of crochet, starting with the absolute basics: holding your hook comfortably and managing yarn tension. You’ll also get an introduction to the world of amigurumi—learning the core techniques to bring your very own yarn characters to life!

Amphi-Improv Ensemble Workshop

Ever woke up joyfully smirking about that funny dream you just had in the morning?
Why was my mother in a hilarious bunny suit, raging at my father in our underwater kitchen because he used the word „vegan“..?
But what’s that..
After just half an hour the dream is gone. You don’t remember a thing anymore. You desperately wish to dream something like this again..!

Well HOLD YOUR HORSES. We come from the Trans-Silvana, straight out of Germany, to offer you a great collection of improvised scenes. On Saturday evening you can expect Love, Hate, Harmony and Conflicts in our cozy Workshop Tent. We will play scenes stimulating your Pre-Frontal Cortex, not being longer than an amusing Tik-Tok.
And Guess-What. YOU decide where it plays, who we are, what we do and a whole lot more. The audience becomes the royal authority deciding what we have to play: Donald Trump or Billy Jean ; Inside a Submarine or on top of a Mountain ; A wedding or a Funeral. Mix all these Suggestions together and we are back to that funny dream.

If you liked what you saw no matter the age you are (Age: 1-99), come back on Sunday noon and we play Improvisational Theatre with you together. And don’t be shy, creating a warm, beginner-friendly space is at the heart of what we do.
You only need to bring yourself, rest is improvised ;).

DIY Pinhole Camera: Photography Back to Its Roots (with Manu)

Discover the magic of photography in its purest form! In this simple, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basic principles of how photography works by building one of the earliest lens styles: a pinhole lens.

Building your lens takes just 30 minutes, and as soon as it’s done, you can attach it to your smartphone and start shooting vintage, dreamy photos right away. Plus, stick around for a relaxed intro to core photography basics and tips to level up your shots!

• Duration: Approx. 45–60 minutes (30-min build + shooting time)

• Requirements: Just bring your smartphone!

Transylvanian Saxon Folk Dances (with Celia & Amos)

What does tradition sound like when it’s danced? Celia and Amos—Junior Ambassadors of the Transylvania Forum and active dancers at the Youth Forum Hermannstadt—invite you to discover the world of Transylvanian-Saxon folk dances.

Together, we’ll learn simple step sequences, lively dances, and experience a vibrant piece of living culture passed down through generations.

• Note: No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm to dance together!

Everybody is a Musician (with KataStrophen)

KataStrophen is a Transylvanian vocal group exploring colorful music ranging from classical masterpieces to folk and pop.

In this interactive music workshop for all ages, we will explore our voices, experiment with body percussion, and work with harmonies and rhythms.

They also give a concert on Saturday before the workshop.
